I am thinking of replacing my modem with a Asus DSL-AX82U is this okay with FTTN NBN?
We agree that technology is evolving very fast, which is why we simplified the configuration if you'll choose to use a third party device.
For NBN bundled with VoIP, make sure that the modem/router is with VLAN ID tagging and support PPPoE Connection type.
For NBN BYO plan, it should be compatible with the PPPoE connection type.
Just use your TPG Username and Password for it to connect to the NBN network.

Hi @si64
That will do as long as it supports VLAN ID tagging if you are under the bundled NBN with VoIP plan.
If you are on a BYO NBN plan, then you can use it without enabling or setting the VLAN ID.
Just need to configure it with PPPoE connection type.
Check some idea here:

Thanks BasilDV,
The issue is the list is now several years old and many of those Modem/Routers are no longer stocked by retailers. Even Mesh technology is evolving at a rapid rate. The reason for changing modems is the huewei supplied by TPG no longer broadcasts on 2.4G and is getting hotter than normal.
Most blogs say these issues are as the Modem/Router has reached the maximum number of devices that use the 2.4G band width.
