Get online support
Dear Forum Members,
I'm posting today to share my experience with a compatibility issue that I've encountered between my TPG modem and gaming laptop [https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/d/gaming-laptops/]. I recently purchased a gaming laptop and was excited to get it set up for some online gaming. However, after connecting to my TPG modem, I noticed that the internet speed was significantly slower than what I was used to.
After some troubleshooting, I discovered that the issue was related to the TPG modem's compatibility with my gaming laptop. I did some research and found that this is a common issue that many TPG customers have reported.
It seems that the TPG modem is not optimized for gaming laptops and can cause connection issues, slow internet speeds, and even dropouts. I've tried various solutions such as updating my laptop's drivers and resetting the modem, but the issue persists.
I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and if there are any solutions that have worked for them. I've considered switching to a different modem that is specifically designed for gaming, but I'm hesitant to do so without more information.
Overall, I'm frustrated by the compatibility issue between my TPG modem and gaming laptop, and I hope that this post can bring some awareness to the problem. I look forward to hearing any insights or solutions that the forum members may have.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Best regards,
Judy
Hi @judywatson . What type of NBN connection do you have?
What is your plan speed (NBN50, NBN100)?
What model wifi router?
Is your gaming computer on ethernet or wifi?
If you run the speed test on TPG support page, what ping time and down and up speeds do you get?
As the test runs, does each graph proceed smoothly or stop/start?
