Using archer 1600v as modem with tplink deco mesh router

Hi,
I’m going to set up a tplink deco m5 mesh network, using the supplied archer 1600v as the modem. Can I just turn off the wifi on the 1600v? Or do I have to set it to bridge mode?

Hi @Roundy77 . If you have FTTB or FTTN, you need the VR1600 for RJ11 connection to wall socket.

If you use the VOIP phone, you have to keep the VR1600 in normal mode. The Deco can only be an access point.

If you don't use VOIP phone, you can put the VR1600 into bridge mode.

Yes, FTTN. So I have to set the archer 1600v into bridge mode for this to work? I can’t just leave profile as is and turn off its wifi?

@Roundy77 . With the VR1600 in bridge mode, you can make full use of the routing functions of the Deco. If that is not important, set the Deco to Access Point mode and turn off VR1600 wifi.
