WIFI Connection? 2.4GHZ not showing

I've had the Huawei HG659 router from TPG since I moved in and lately not sure if its on my end or the router has been causing wifi issues.


The WLAN 2.4 GHz is not showing but the WLAN 5 GHz SSID is on some devices. I've checked the devices through the advanced settings in device manager to check it can receive 5ghz and also have rebooted the router numerous times.


Would it be a firmware issue I am having or simply its a very old router that is possibly faulty after so many years and I will need to order a new one?


Also I've noticed that the WLAN keeps getting switched off for some reason when I login to the router.

Have you checked in the modem interface if the 2.4GHz band is enabled/active?

Have you tried to factory reset the modem/router? 


What are the troubleshooting that you've already performed aside from turning it off and on?
