Connecting to NBN

Hi,

I will be getting "nbn™ Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC)* technology for my home address. Will this effect me wanting to be with TPG to connect to the NBN?

I'm currently with TPG now on ADSL2.

If it's fine, will TPG move me to the NBN  when it's ready with no setup fee? See disclaimer below:

"Sign up for ADSL today and we’ll move you to NBN when your address becomes ready for NBN.  When it’s time to move to NBN there’s no setup fee on our 18 month NBN plan and our high speed WiFi modem are included at no extra cost." - https://www.tpg.com.au/adsl

I was in your exact situation in 2016: ADSL2+ with TPG and NBN-HFC came to my neighbourhood.

I was initially planning to stay on ADSL2+ until I had to move one year later but I received an "invitation" (phone call) from TPG to move to NBN. So, I moved.

Unfortunately, you only get a free move if you choose an 18-month contract. From my perspective that was not a deal-breaker as I am not the type that moves around a lot. (I have been with TPG/NBN for about 18 months now, so, the move has been free!)

NBN installation was done on schedule without any problems. Very happy with TPG.

Good day @tim_17,

For upgrading your service from ADSL2+ to NBN HFC, there should be no problem with it.

In regards to:

You will not be paying for the set up fee once you've chosen to be on an 18 Months contract.(http://tpg.com.au/nbn#popular-fast-sl)

Kind regards,
