If you are plugging the Nest router directly into your NBN router, it should be able to pickup its IP via DHCP. Are you plugging it in correctly?

Hi hornblow. If the Nest base station connects to the NBN box, the Nest does the job of the TPG router.

The Nest needs PPPoE, TPG username and password and VLAN ID = 2.

Hi David. Are you suggesting that the tpg supplied modem/router (archer vr 1600v) is not required anymore?

Hi @johnphilippa . It might work on FTTP which doesn't use VLAN ID. For other connection types, you need a router that supports VLAN ID (VR1600 to use VOIP service).

Hi John,

Wondering if you found a solution for this.

I have the Archer VR1600v and cannot get the Google Nest to work with it.

Thanks
