My home phone used to work fine but the quality deteriorated a few days ago and now the phone does not work. I just get a lot of noise when I try to use the phone, and it does not ring for any incoming calls and I cannot make a call either.

Phone still not working; my phone handset displays "Check TEL Line" message. I cannot make calls, and incoming calls do not ring.
I used the phone on Dec 15, and it suddenly stopped working on Dec 16 about the time I saw an NBN technician working near my house and also received a text message from TPG about an outage in my area.
