Hi Ream, just had my nbn installed on Tuesday, but installed upstairs in cupboard. Battling to get signal and usage downstairs where all devices are used.
How can I request technician to change location of modem and nbn router? To get adequate usage as per plan?

Hi @staceyH1 . What type of NBN connection do you have?

Do any of your rooms have ethernet outlets? Or a patch panel in the cupboard with nbn box and router?

Hi David,

I used to be connected to cable internet, which was downstairs running out of Ethernet port and another socket. The NBN guy had to look for a phone line and found it upstairs in this electrical cupboard, he plugged in the nbn box and the tpg modem.

not sure why this couldn't be placed downstairs where the old connection was removed.

signal is terrible.

@staceyH1 . If you have the white nbn box connected to a standard telephone outlet (FTTC), you can try moving it and the router to a telephone outlet downstairs. Three blue lights on nbn box means it has connected to the network.
