What is my distance from my house to my node with FTTN?

I want to figure out the distance from my house to the node in my area (FTTN).  Can't seem to find that information anywhere else.  I want to upgrade my NBN plan to improve my speed, but not if its pointless if the node is 8km away.  

Right now my internet speed is quite poor.

What is the distance?  And what is the speed i "should" get at that distance?
