SMTp security setting

SOLVED Go to solution

I have been using thunderbird for a while now. Until recently something has happened when I have updated to ver 78.5.1.

I can receive emails but can not send emails. My security setting must be wrong with this new version. What should I have as "Security Authentication". There are 2 fields in this area one is Connection Security and the other authentication method.

Do I use SSL/TLS or STARTTLS or none for the Connection security?

And for the Authentication there are 4 choices is it "NORMAL PASSWORD" or "NO AUTHENTICATION" or " ENCRYPTED PASSWORD " or  "kerberos"

Your help is much appreciated.

Hi ttooma.

For SMTP, try port 25 with STARTTLS or port 465 with SSL/TLS.

For POP3, try port 995 with SSL/TLS.

And NORMAL PASSWORD.

But you will still need to make a change to TB internal configuration.
