Network or SIM card issue - call forwarding

Level 1
I am unable to activate or setup call forwarding on my mobile. I get the error 'Network or Sum card issue'.
This function has previously worked well, but suddenly has stopped. I have re-started the phone on multiple occasions, and downloaded all available updates. Not sure what to try next???
Any assistance is appreciated.
