Let me start by saying I have been a TPG customer for over 20 years.   I have received notification of a 7% price increase to my 50/20 NBN service to $74.99 monthly.  I understand that prices increase and cannot always be absorbed, but when I look at other resellers of the same product, I find I can get exactly the same product for $54 a month for the first 6 months and $64.95 a month thereafter from a provider that gets 4 star reviews.   If I wish to cancel my TPG service, can I do so over the phone or does it have to be in writing.  If in writing, can I do so via this forum or is there a dedicated email address to use?   As I am midway through my billing cycle, will I receive a pro-rata refund to the same credit card I have registered with TPG?   It is disappointing to find myself in this position, but the cost difference is significant.  I have looked at TPG wireless broadband as an alternative but it is not available in my area.     ... I was interested to see TPG promoting 5G wireless broadband as an alternative to NBN.  Seems to be fast and $10 month cheaper, so I put in my address on TPG's site, only to be told my address did not qualify.  Then I got a promotion from Telstra for the same thing, so I put in my address and was invited to sign up.  How can this be? ... For those who have got NBN but now find the new modem location restricts WIFI range, I have discovered a gem the extend the range of my Archer VR1600 (it is claimed to be compatible with all brands).  I tried a few mesh systems, but the best, and simplest outcome was this:   https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/range-extender/re450/ Very easy to set up, and by giving the new network the same name as the current one, it forms a mesh.  I gave my 2.4gHz and 5gHz networks the same name, and my devices automatically pick the strongest signal as I move through the house.  Range is very good, and price is less than $150 (I got mine for $135 delivered on Amazon AU).  Can't guarantee results for others of course, but it's so simple it's worth looking at. ... I am confused. Similar posts on this site seem encouraging but I spoke to TPG support and they tell me this model router is not compatible with any mesh system. Has anyone had success with the Tenda Nova MW6 mesh system? Has anyone had success with any mesh system? Please help! The Archer VR1600 is not powerful enough without some help.
