TPG emails are becoming worse and worse, with similarly styled spam and phishing dominating my inbox. These appear to me to be so obvious that any respectable ISP would be able to recognise them and send them to the junk box. (But they're also 'random' enough that the limited tools provided by TMC aren't sufficient.) How can we fix this without leaving TPG?

My email had recently been transferred to TMC. Since then I've been receiving several obvious spam emails. I previously had my email spam filter set to 'medium'. Does this still apply to TMC, or do I need to do something different? Gabby

To see the filters, click Settings/ Mail filter settings. The user-defined filters are under Address Filtering. For me, each of these shows "This site can’t be reached". I get similar results in all browsers I've tried, PC or mobile device. FWIW the filters seem to be working, but I can't see them or change them.

Hi Alan The general spam filter set on medium works quite well IMNSHO. It's commercial 'new' spam not trapped by the general filter which I need to block. Also some bulk emails which I need to allow through. BTW, any idea when we are likely to get migrated? Anyone? After all 2023 seems to be dead and gone now ...

My email hasn't been transferred to TMC yet. I'm having increasing problems countering spam because I can't access the (TPG) email filters any more. I've tried various browsers and reported this to TPG, all without success. The filters used to be reasably good when I could access them. Any advice on how to get into my filters? I'm getting desperate.

I've had at least 2 emails sent to Junk when they were OK before. I tried to fix this but I can't edit my email filter settings. It says: "Firefox Can’t Open This Page. To protect your security, postoffice.tpg.com.au will not allow Firefox to display the page if another site has embedded it. To see this page, you need to open it in a new window." How do I fix this?

Hmm. It seems to work now. I deleted the extra accounts - these were a result of using by email address as my user name as in the example quoted. The real breakthrough seems to have been using my true user name in one of the outgoing server entries instead of the alias. Thanks guys for the leg up. Hopefully I'm finally there and not in too much mess.

There's a problem for a start. The email settings recommended by @BasilDV at https://support.tpg.com.au/email-settings conflict with regard to the Incoming Port. It says it should be 993 but the example below it shows 995. You say "POP3/Receive port is 995". I also now seem to have 3 accounts shown in the left hand column: agabb-tpg, agabb@tpg.com.au and agabb@tpg.com.au_2 (shown as "agabb@tpg.com.au (Pop3)"). Before I had only one which has worked for years. What's going on?

The error message is "Login to server mail.tpg.com.au with username [] failed. I'll send the setup stuff a little later.

Today I can't send from my Thunderbird client. It says the login failed. I can send from the webmail interface. I can receive emails OK. Before that it's worked well for years. Is this something to do with the migration to TMC? Gabby

My account was recently throttled when I exceeded my quota (bloody grandkids!). I noticed that the throttling kicked in at 0800 rather than 0830 (as specified in my plan). The times must be local times rather than EST because otherwise those in WA would be really screaming. Anyone know why this might have happened? Anyone know how to test for whether you're in peak or offpeak when they both run at the same speed? (Apart from downloading lots of data I mean.)
