Hi, The only notification I've received from TPG regarding email has been to notify me of the closure of an unused email account. I've had nothing from TPG or Chariot to formally notify me of the closure of my chariot.net.au email account, but I'm told its going to happen soon

I've been with Chariot and TPG for a long time and have heard that TPG intend to close-down the chariot.net.au email domain as the servers are at end-of-life. I understand the reasoning, but don't understand why we simply could have an alias on the TPG email server. I've had no formal notice of the pending chariot shut-down, and would like to know what the time-frame is so that I can change my profiles on accounts and subscriptions that point to my chariot address. Now today I've heard that TPG is planning to cease providing email altogether. What is the time-frame for that, I wonder? Having email is an important part of my on-line needs. If TPG chooses to cease providing it then I'll have little choice than to move to an ISP that does provide it.

I've just got word that the Chariot email system is going to me shut down in early 2023. I understand the reasoning - the servers are at end of life and Chariot is only a fractional part of the TPG Empire. The sad thing is us Chariot customers will lose our @chariot.net.au email addresses, which we've had for many years and are an integral part of our digital lives. I've always kept my Chariot address for friends/family and important business matters, so losing it will have an impact on me. I gather that TPG have decided to just kill off the mail servers but have not given any consideration to preserving the @chariot.net.au domain within the @TPG.com.au domain. How hard would it be for TPG to set up an Chariot.net.au alias on our TPG email accounts? One of the main reasons I've stayed with TPG of the many years has been to keep my Chariot email account running, so if that is no longer available then I'm now open to consider the whole range of internet providers. I urge TPG to consider helping Chariot customers by preserving their email addresses within the TPG domain.

I've had the HG659 since we cut-over to HFC NBN over a year ago. I've noticed that its performance has deteriorated in recent weeks. Notably the issues I'm seeing are: Very slow response to actions in the Management Console - pages very slow to load up and the status of settings are very slow to be shown and changed. Wifi connections to some devices - some devices report "Authentication Problems". Port forwarding stops working - Plex Media servers lose their remote access capability unreliable Ethernet connectivity - e.g. * my NVidia Shield loses connection to my HDHomerun TV tuner, * Plex Clients are unable to connect to Plex Media servers, * connections to my local NAS unreliable. Occasional dropouts during voice calls on the Landline VOIP service I'm running with Hardware version: VER.B Software version: V100R001C216B112 As I said, I've noticed these issue over the last few weeks. I had been fault-finding each problem individually until I realised that the Router is common to all of them, and that a re-boot fixes things for a while (a couple of days before things start getting flakey again). Is there a Firmware update that might fix these issues? My daughter has recently signed up to TPG (following my advice) and she was sent a TP-Link C1200 router which appears to perform very well. As a long-term loyal TPG customer, could I get a C1200 sent out to replace the HG659? I would like to get these issues resolved soon, I'm hoping that there is a quick solution to this issue.

There's bit of talk about ISP's no longer offering 100Mbps services because they are unsure if they can deliver those rates. I was wondering if there was some way we could have our connection's maximun data rate capacity measured so we could have some confidence if we decide to change our plan to a higher data rate. I'm on 11Mbps on a HFC connection at this time and I'm curious to know how high it can go. I understand that normally data rates are subject to a number of variables, but the actual capacity of the cables and modems is the baseline that I'm seeking to establish.

I'm no longer able to access the Freeview+ feature on my Samsung SmartTV. The TV has an internet connection and runs Netflix/Iview/SBS-OD with no problems, but Freeview does not even start. It was working fine a few months back, but not being a regular user I don't know when it broke. I've tried changing DNS settings on the TV and searched internet for solutions but nothing is apparent. I wonder if TPG is blocking HbbTV services. A clue I got this morning is that when I hit the green button, a dialog came up saying I needed an internet connection (which it already has) so perhaps there is a connectivity issue with the Freeview server.

Hi EvilClown, Thanks for sharing the details. I'm keen to upgrade from the Huawei HG659 - It works OK but I think I could do better. How do you find your new Router's performance overall? WiFi etc. How is the home phone connected to the router (WiFi?) - what model of phones are you using? Do you now if SNMP is available on your router? I'm looking for routers with this feature as it would allow me to monitor which computers on my homenet are chewing up the bandwidth and quota. Cheers J-P

Hi, I'm currently running V...B112, what are the features of B113 that make it worth upgrading? I'm keen to get SNMP going so that I can monitor my home network traffic and see whats's chewing up my 50G allowance.

Is there any way to enable SNMP in this router? I want to track my network usage at this end to see which machines are being greedy.

I'd like to get SNMP working at home on my TPG supplied Huawei HG659 Router. Can't find anywhere to enable it in the menus - is there an advanced users area that I can access?
