They've found out that the device that you were using was a router only device, which is why it is not getting any connection from the ADSL server. We understand that they've advised you to change it with an ADSL modem/router for it to work.
Once an ADSL modem/router is connected, you need to make sure that the configuration is correct in order for the internet service to work.
