Trying to set up parental control's on the router and after finding the part of the modem where i need to add the controls its asking me for device name and mac address. My questions Where do i find this info? Do i need it for there Ipads and laptop? Ideas?

Hi All, I had the TPG ADSL 2 Modem for the last 5 years and the Samsung TV ran perfectly fine. However in the last 2 days i have upgraded to the NBN using TP Link Vr 1600v however the TV doesnt detect the WIFI connection. Every other device, Iphones, ipads etc have been able to connect. Samsung say its fine, the modem is only 4 metres away in clear site Any suggestions?

Hi @wilcrunk, I have tried to source my own tech. Every quote was $100. So ill take TPG offer for one of there guys to do the jumpering

Hi guys, Just wondering how i change the SSID name in the modem. Theres two similar names when my visitors try and connect to the particulal wifi signal and keep picking the wrong one.

Hi guys, Move into a place with a friend a year ago and got an ADSL connection with TPG. All is good. I then move overseas for a year (for work) and as my friend had no need for the internet he cancelled the service. After a year I came back and moved into the same apartment with my mate, rang TPG to get the internet connected. Before the installation would become complete I was told that my service needed “MDF Jumpering” to the apartment. Is this correct? I have been gone for a year and no other service has been installed here. Thought it would be as easy as just turning it on. Now a technician needs to do the jumpering. can anyone explain this process to me?

Hi @wilcrunk, Before you start Make sure your router is connected to your computer via the ethernet cable . Alternatively if you are currently connected to the wifi you won’t need to be connected directly to the router. If your TPG router is the supplied TP link router. Open your browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter. Enter admin for both the username and password and click Login On the menu on the left side of the page, click Wireless. You can change the password to whatever you like under the password field. Click Save If your TPG router is the supplied Huawei router. Open your browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 and press Enter. Enter admin for both the username and password and click Login Click on Setup up WLAN. Chage the password under the password field and click Save. Hope that helps @wilcrunk
