Hi Yet another disgruntled Archer 1600v user. I'm currently on my 3rd 1600v and it is also suffering from Internet dropouts, not just wifi, my ethernet devices also suffer dropouts. I usually have to reboot the device to get anything to work. Given I am now being charged $75/mo for 50mbit and forced to do Network Admin work ontop of that, particularly stings. While typing this message on my pc, which uses Gigabit Lan connected via a managed switch into the Archer it has dropped out again. I connect to wi-fi direct to the Archer, but alas the Internet light is dimmed out on the unit and there is no web. I'm forced to tether my pc to my phone to send this message. Lucky that always works. Another issue besides the dropouts is the increasing frequency of Archer crashes. Twice weekly we have experienced no connectivity. When we check the Archer there are no lights lit on the front, even though the device switch is turned on at the back. Given the frequency of dropouts and increasing device crashes it would be fair to assume this router is on its last legs (for the 3rd time). Just as an aside my network topology is as such: Internet Connection --Archer LAN--> Mgd Switch|-->LAN -->Static IP Router 1-->Wifi--> Half house devices                                                                                       |-->LAN -->Static IP Router 2-->Wifi--> Other half of devices                                                                                       |--> LAN --> Gaming PC                                     -- Archer Wifi --> Nil devices connected to Archer wifi. I gave up long ago trying to connect any wifi devices to the Archer. It is so flakey and unstable it just wasnt worth using. I'm even using a managed switch to do all the heavy lifting of moving those timely gaming packets around on my machine. The Archer basically is just a modem now, and it can't even do that well. Hi. I have finally reinstated my old NBN50 FttN plan. At aditional cost, of course! :( And i lost my phone line, because i couldn't just re-instate the account that had been closed down 12hours earlier, supposedly. Even if my reinstating of the nbn port was almost instantaneous.   Anyways. I'm still waiting for the advice on what to do with the 5G modem. I was told i would receive instructions on how to return it free-of-charge, but haven't seen any emails. I don't need any additional charges now. Can someone please advise. Thanks. ... View more

So got shipped a new V2 router, to the existing faulty (5 month old) V2 I already have.   UI seems more responsive, but it has only been running for a few hours. Major concern is that my dreaded nbn-voice error has occured again. The new modem appeared to be pre-setup with my login details, as it connected straight away on first power-up. So i'm wondering weather i should be resetting this new modem back to factory settings again, and starting from scratch. Another 5ghz fail here. I already have the V2 router as it was replaced when my nbn-voice line stopped working. Now im getting these bugs\errors.    I hate this junky router.  The interface is slow & crap, functionality is useless. The Parent Controls dont work at all. I need my kids computers to be disconnected at a certain time each night and have added there MAC addys to the list, only to discover they were still playing on them late last night. I initially connected up my existing Fritzbox when i first got NBN, and it worked wonderfully untill i discovered i wasn't able to input any Voice settings, as they are obfiscated from the Archers interface and are proprietary.   You can clearly see the Archer is reporting eveything is connected and working fine in the first pic. 2nd pic shows my phone cant connect to the Archer NBN50 5ghz channel 3rd shows the LAN2 is not dected, even though front LEDS say it is.    Other problems: * Parent Controls dont work at all * Diagnostics hang (no detection) while detecting: Network Connection Status Inspect (NCSI)   Advanced Settings > System Tools > Diagnostics > * Status hangs on update:   Basic Settings > Network Map  > Internet Status > HANGS while detecting, no       dection occurs. * Get constant disconnects from the vDSL2 line. Of course the modem doesnt log or report them, but we have to do a hard reset to re-sync\connect the Archer, at least daily. This will be reflected on the TPG logs.   Now i have to waste more time chasing my tail fixing this stupid modem, Again!   And before you ask, I have done a full factory reset. Started with minimal settings. Disconnected all wireless devices in the house. Used Wifi Analyzer on my phone to detect this best channel to use (auto was correct). The above pictures are after the reset.   The only thing that does work (after reboots) is the nbn-voice, which was the intial problem with the old V1 modem. Hi there, Thanks or the reply. I have spent all weekend trying to get VOIP working and getting my SYNC speeds up. But to no avail.   I can either get the voip working, using the poxy Archer router and suffer lower sync speeds. (1st Image) or.   LoSync with supplied Archer 1600v OR...   I can get much better sync speeds with my FritzBox 7490, but can't get the voip to work on this modem. Factory resets and all...   How can i get the NBN to sync fast, using my FB7490 and have a home phone. My old land line number has ported over, and does work (tested with the useless Archer).   Needless to say, both Routers were installed on the same phone line and power sockets. These are isolated from radio interference. Judging by the fact that the FB7490 has no problems meeting the maximum Sync speeds the issue is with the Archer.   I prefer my FritzBox as the Sync & Dload Speeds, better firewall, security and access features are vastly superior to the basic Archer modem you provided.   If i run the Fb7490 in bridgemode, i lose all my firewall, access control and security features.   Up till last week , while still on ADSL2+, i was able to use my FB7490 as a DECT phone server. This made use of the my existing Landline number. As this number has been converted over to VOIP and purely digital, i should be able to setup my FB7490 to run it. All i need is my VOIP account details. Surely.   I've found your basic VOIP Access settings, but these dont help me setup the account details required in my FB7490 .
