Hi, I have cancelled my broadband connection but was told to send a mail to cancellation team regarding some outstanding credit. Could you please provide the appropriate email? P.S: I have no clue why this information is not advertised on the support page itself.

So here is the background. I moved from an apartment with a TTB to a NBN only apartment. The new apartment was serviced by Gigafy (who is sorta provides internet to the whole building that can be subscribed). Since I was with TPG for almost 5 yrs and liked to continue with them I opted to get a NBN connection to the new building. But after an hour long and signing up for NBN in the new address my card was charged $300 more and when I called up to inquire about it I was told that it is the NBN new development fee. Since I wasn't told about this during the original call and was not too keen on spending $300 on a rental property I requested for a refund which happened without an issue. Well I moved in to the new place and signed up with gigafy. A couple of days ago I saw the below in a cupboard. If I am not wrong this is the same as this . Now I got a couple of questions 1. Can TPG uptilise this NTD to provide their NBN connection? 2. If yes, they why was I charged a new dev fee which eventually made me go with a different provider.

So, I got the new modem setup and everything seem to be in order. I just managed to get the bare minimum in place to get the internet going, and so far so good. I will ship the faulty router back on monday. On the N300 router that was sent by mistake, I seem to have packed it into the satchel without removing the "Interim Despatch summary report". It has a driver copy and sender copy, so I am assuming that the driver has to sign it when he picks up the parcel. Could you mail me a copy of this for the consignment number 7KGZ00006049?

@Will yep, received the modem today and I have verified that it is a VR1600. However I would be able to set it up only on the weekend, so will report back if Ihave any issues. It is a shame though that TPG has locked out the option to backup/restore the settings. (for someone with 8+ dhcp reservation, which again has to be added with mac address is a pain in the a$$) I will return the N300 in the satchel that came with it, and the fault modem in the satchel that came with the new modem after setting up the new modem (just so that they pick up both in one shot).

So here is the back story. Complained on FB about slow speed and a tech visit was quickly arranged.I was actually impressed with the quick response. The tech said it is the building's wiring issue. I also showed him the 5ghz on Archer VR1600v is pretty slow. So got a call couple of days later to troubleshoot the router and it was established that a replacement is needed. So far so good... A few days back the router arrived but I opened it only today and lo and behold.. I was shipped a N300 2.4ghz modem as a replacement, to replace a AC1600... a freakin N300. I was surprised that it is even an option as a replacement, for any type of modem/router. I completely lost it and customer care told that I would get a call back tomorrow. Is this something that usually happens? I can understand if a AC1600 is replaced with a AC1300 or a atleast a dual band device, but a N300 is beyond pathetic. Aren't these things even checked or at least checked with the customer before shipping it?

Could you please confirm if this would be a new modem or a refurbished one? I was told that it will be a new modem and if so, please proceed with it.

hello, I couldn't follow up on this since I have been away for the past month. Could you get someone to reach out to me? I did speak to someone before I left and was told that a new router would be shipped without any shipping fees, would appreciate if the person calling me is across this as well.

cheers mate.. Spoke with the tech team and right off the bat, once I told them the symptoms, they confirmed that it is a router problem. However I am disappointed that a free replacement is not provided (since it has been more than a year old) and option of only a refurbished router if I agree for a 6 month contract. I have been with TPG for quite a few years and was hoping that I would be valued as a long term customer. I did see some customers were provided free replacements in the forum.

That was some pretty rapid response, thanks for that. Unfortunately I wasn't at home. However am back home and available for the rest of the day and can be reached on the same number. Before your tech support calls me, I guess I have tried pretty much everything suggested in this forum and on the internet. Tried multiple factory resets, disconnected and left idle for 5 mins, turned off wifi etc. Everything I tried gave almost the same result. Things will look to be back to normal, only for the wifi to disappear randomly (the 2.4 GHz time, the 5GHz is still a no show) or the ssid will be visible but the devices will not be able to connect and at one stage the router went into a limbo with just the LAN led turned on.

well the factory reset made zero difference. Still no 5Ghz, even after resetting it twice. I also realised the DHCP reservation on the router is a joke. Even after setting a static IP, it just assigns a random ip, even if the random ip is reserved for a different device

Not yet @Shane, I was hoping to back the settings up and do a factory reset. I thought an option to back up the setting should be a no brainer, but looks like I am out of choice here. I will bite the bullet and try a factory reset.

Thanks for the clarification @BasilDV. May I ask what is the difference between the 2 different versions given that they are the same model routers. Now back to the original issue, I litreally had my router die on me while posting this. Only the power and LAN lights were ON (I do have stuff connected to LAN), while the WAN, internet and WLAN lights were turned off. I had to reboot the router. Is there a way to backup the router settings?

Update: Just checked and modem is still showing below Hardware version: VER.B Software version: V100R001C216B013 Just curious how it was decided that the modem has the latest FW version? Would appreciate it the latest version V100R001C216B113 is pushed to the modem.

Hello @BasilDV As indicated in my first post, the software version was V100R001C216B013 when I posted this topic. I can see many people are requesting for and is being updated with the version V100R001C216B113. How would that make my modem running the latest fw? Or do you mean that it would have been updated in the interim? I'll check and update on the version I see on the modem once I get back home.

Thanks Shane. Things have gotten worse. Now the 2.4GHz is also dropping every few hours and the router shows only the power and LAN lights as ON (I do have stuff connected to LAN), the WAN, internet and WLAN lights are turned off. I am having to restart the router atleast 4 times a day. I am hoping for the f/w upgrade to fix this as well.

howdy folks, my HG659 has stopped broadcasting in 5GHz since last week, thought the status say that 5GHz is turned ON. There was no change done from my end, the gateway seem to have the latest FW. None of my 5GHz capable devices are able to see the 5GHz from the gateway. The devices can see other 5GHz networks with no problem. Product type:HG659 Device ID:00E0FC-J3N8W16805004362 Hardware version:VER.B Software version:V100R001C216B013 I have tried disabling and enabling the 5GHz on the gateway and a reboot as well. I don't want to perform a factory reset at this point since I do have quite a few configurations and don't want to loose them (a bit surprised that the gateway doesn't let you take a backup of the settings) Also is there a way to see when the latest firmware was remote pushed to my device? The system logs are useless in this regard.
