HI, I want to add an email account to my set of email accounts. When I go to the "My Account" and "Add Slave User" the button is grayed out. There is a message: "Mailbox creation is currently unavailable. If you would like to add a new mailbox please call TPG Helpdesk on 13 14 23" but when you ring that phone number you get a solid tone a bit like a modem handshake tone. So, how do I enable the button so I can add a mailbox without ringing that number?

Just for completeness I thought I would tell you about a similar problem I had and how it fixed it. I got the same whinge as the OP. So I went into the iphone mail settings for the TPG email server and simply re-typed the password. No change at all just retyped the password exactly as it was. That was enough to clear the logjam.

OK, I've been following this thread. Since I got the NBN I have had a drop out at precisely the same time of day each week. When I initially contacted you I was sent another modem for free. Which was wonderful, but then the drop out moved to another day (Saturday instead of Sunday). Now before you ask me for my details and PM etc I'll let you know that recently I phoned to get help and after an hour of troubleshooting there was no detected fault. I think the problem is that there is a firmware bug in these Archer VR1600v units. If you trawl through your own community site you will see numerous similar issues. The response is always the same, give us your details, PM us and we will carry out diagnostics. The end result is always the same - no result. The time has come for you to contact Archer and get them to tell you what is going on. Presumably you are a big customer and they will listen to you (as opposed to one of us trying to get some joy). You can always threaten to move to another supplier and this should get some action on their end.

OK, I'm back home from work. I can see the tp-link webpage but now it refuses to accept the pasword. Is there a way to reset it, (like pushing a paperclip into a hole or something) to make it reset the password?

I can telnet into that ip address and port. It's clearly connected to *something* but I don't know the command set to turn off and on. There is no command prompt and ? doesn't provide anything What do I type once I'm in the telnet session?

Ok, short circuiting the inevitable questions: I have tried ethernet, two different wireless networks, windows10, mac, android 11, Mac with current safari. None of the options above can see the web interface. It says there is no server at that IP address

Hi, I have just received an email from WNAP telling me to change the port forwarding settings on the NBN modem. When I attempted to log into the NBN modem modem at 192.168.1.1 it wouldn’t let me in,in fact it says there is no server there! How do I actually access the modem?

I do apologise. I just dictated that to Siri and she made a total hash of it so here is the same thing again edited: Why can’t I send SMSs to certain places? Sometimes I get a text message from Restaurant or someduch asking me to reply to confirm whether I’m coming to the restaurant or not. When I attempt to send a text message it says, “no you can’t send that text message you don’t have any credit”. As far as I’m concerned I should be able to send as many text messages as I like. Can you please explain what’s going on. Take a look at the file that I’ve linked.

You know, I've been thinking about our proposed explanation for the drop outs and I think we might have not quite got it figured out. If the drop outs were due to overheating then in the winter, when the house is approximately 15 degrees all day the drop outs should be less frequent. Similarly in the summer when temperatures are 26 degrees or higher they should be more frequent. However, the drop outs occur PRECISELY at 9:30 am on a Tuesday every week (except last week when it was 11:00am). This sounds like something that is a side effect of some software process that repeats every week. If so then replacing hardware isn't necessarily going to fix the problem.

Hi again Riezel, Thanks for the information. We do indeed use Voip so it looks like we have to be content with a drop out of our internet every Tuesday or lose the Voip altogether. I am sad about this because both my boys are working from home and this weekly interruption means that they have to make sure no online meetings are scheduled on Tuesday mornings. I think they are getting used to it since we have had this since we started with TPG. It's not so bad in a way because I have friends with other providers who have the issue that their internet slows to a crawl randomly. At least with this we know it is coming and our internet speed is pretty constant.

Ok, you are our supplier. Tell me which router/Wireless access point I should buy. I want something that is a drop in replacement and will accomodate all the hardwired connections I currently have plus the various wireless clients we have around the home.

Hi Shane, Yes, it will be interesting if it returns to the 9:30 am drop out or stays at 11:00 am now. One thing you mentioned which is interesting, "It usually happens when the modem/router has been connected for more than a week". Is there ever a circumstance where your customers don't have their modem/router connected for more than a week? Aren't they supposed to stay on all the time? Regards, Jack

HI, As you know from my previous support requests, my internet has been dropping out every Tuesday at 9:30 am. I understand that you have been logging my connection on a continuing basis. I haven't heard from you for some time but thought I would update with some new information. Today rather than dropping out at 9:30 it dropped out at 11:00 am. Is there anything in the logs to give you a clue as to what was different today? Another thing, I got my sons to try the following: ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew when the internet failed. The release was successful but the renew did not work. (please don't ask me for any details about my computer, network etc since you already have that information from my last six reports) Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I have a tentative explanation for what is going on: The DHCP lease is being renewed every Tuesday at 9:30 but the connected computers on the wired and wireless network created by the NBN router are not connected to the new IP address so it looks like the internet is disconnected. *Something* happens after half an hour or so and the NBN router provides new IP addresses to all the connected devices and they continue to work until the next Tuesday when the whole thing happens again. Can someone tell me if this is a plausible explanation? If so is there some way to make the NBN router provide the new IP addresses before the DHCP lease expires? This would then ensure continuity of service. If this is NOT the explanation, does someone have a better explanation?

HI, No, I have simply used the TPG modem. The fact that the dropout occur at precisely 9:30 to 10:00 on a Tuesday points to something *other* than a modem problem. There is something weird going on at the exchange I think. I'm just trying to cajole TPG into investigating the problem

Hi all, Since joining TPG in July last year we have had the internet drop out from 10:30am to 11:00am every Tuesday. Regular as clockwork the internet drops out. I have used the online chat thingo (recently with Glaiza- Hi Glaiza) a few times. The usual thing is, "Monitor the internet for the next 24 hours" but since the problem occurs every week nothing shows up. I have a NAS drive that I use to store my music and the drive creates log files which show the drop out every week. Is there an equivalent set of log files for my home internet connection? Today I noticed that the drop out started at 9:30am and we just went off daylight savings time. So whatever it is the drop out is synchronised to a non-DST type clock, like UTC. It has not really been a problem until I started working from home because of this COVID thing. Does anyone out there know what might be causing this. If so comment to this thread. Maybe the technical people at TPG monitor these things and they can fix the problem?

Every week the internet just drops out, without warning at about 2:30 in the afternoon (although it can really happen at any time). I would expect that once we have a connection it should be stable for months. Is there anything you can do to fix this and make it more reliable?

I live in Gulfview Heights and have discovered that people are unable to phone us because they get a message that there is "congestion on the line". Obviously I have no way of telling when this happens because I don't get the call! Can you please fix this for me?
