If you are under the TPG NBN service, you don't need the Telstra phone anymore as we provide a bundled service (Internet and Home phone - VoIP).
You may cancel your Telstra phone account and it will not affect your service.

I don't need a home phone.
I just want the NBN and I'm currently on the $69 TPG plan which I'm happy with.
When on ADSL2+ I had to keep Telstra in the loop for the line rental.
Is that no longer the case?
We sold the NBN and the VoIP phone as a bundle.
You don't need the phone line from Telstra as we are using a different technology.
You may contact them to terminate your phone account.
