High Latency from Perth to SEA server - COD and Dota 2

Hi,

I have been experiencing high latency on both COD and Dota 2. Used to be normal ping at 60 to 70ping, but now is 400 ping on COD and 260 ping on Dota 2.

I have seen it in the TPG community that it's been solved, but the consultant on the phone is no help at all.

Please assist.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem at the moment from Melbourne.

I would normall get around 100 ping, up to 150 ping on bad days. However, a few days ago it has spiked up to 270 ping and won't go back down.

I contacted TPG Support and they asked me to change my DNS (even though i knew that wouldn't do anything). They also told me they would call me the next day. They didn't...

anyway, a solution would really be appreciated.

Is that both the games? COD and Dota2? Is that SEA server for both games?

Could you do a tracert to the game server hostname or ip address at different times of the day. This will show where network delays are occurring. It could be routing problems.

How do you connect to the game? Is it www.somethingorother? 

In Windows, command window,     tracert    followed by web site or ip address

Do it for each game site that you use.

Linux has similar command.

Sorry to jump in on a post, I am also experiencing the exact same thing as you. Been playing Apex Legends on SIN server with almost no lag at all with about 100 ping. Then on Saturday onwards, its been unplayable at about 350+ ping. I believe the routing as change recently.

Do you play the games in your browser or is it a desktop icon where all the mechanics are hidden inside?

There's a web site www.dota2.com   and   www.callofduty.com   which could be the gaming sites.

You could just do:

Then again, it looks fine to me...with ping stable..its just when i connect to SEA server...
