I have changed from NBN 50 to NBN superfast, Do I need to have a new modem to acommodate the change of speed?

it all depends.
- what modem do you have
- are you referring to cable speed or wifi speed?
- can your modem support >200Mbps throughput for wifi?
msot modems these days support 1Gbps on cable. so no issue if connecting via cable as long asyour connection speed on the pc/laptop reflects this.

We recommend for customers to purchase a third party modem/router to maximize their NBN Home Superfast and Ultrafast speed tier plan.

If you are under the NBN bundled plan (Internet and phone service), then the phone service will not work using a third party device.
