Intermittent / slow connection on HFC internet

I've been experiencing issues with my HFC internet connection that have been causing disconnections and slow speeds. Reading previous posts on this forum from people experience the same issues it seems to be related to this excerpt taken from the system log on my Archer VR1600V modem.

I've been experencing intermittent disconnections and internet speed dropping from 100mbps to <1mpbs. Using a internet connection monitor ive recorded up to 67 disconnections in a 24h period, these range from a couple of seconds up to 5 minutes.

 

Ive attempted the normal troubleshooting, restarting modem, factory reset modem, dns and ip config. Flushing dns etc and no improvement. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for raising this to us, we're sad to learn that you're having issues with the connection.

There are different types of dropouts that you may experience:

1. Network dropouts, this dropout is caused by a line fault on TPG or NBN's network. Affecting all device(s) LAN/Wireless connected to the modem/router this may require a real-time test and investigation by our Technicians and Engineers.

 

2. Wireless dropouts, this issue only affects the device(s) connected via Wi-Fi which can easily be fix by doing adjustment to the modem/router's settings.

 

3. Dropouts caused by ongoing outage in your area.
