Hi,
I'm trying to reinstall the modem due to slow internet- I connected the ethernet cable to my laptop but it can't load the set up page. It keeps saying 'it will automatically boot' but it hasn't. Not sure what to do.

Hi @ashleeryoo . What model router do you have?

Did you get into the setup page? Is 192.168.20.1 the correct address?

On your laptop, do    ipconfig    command and see what address the laptop gets.

You could try pressing the Reset button again.

Hello,
I did 192.168.20.1,
My modem model is NetcommWireless N300 wifi gigabite router -nf12
I tried the ipconfig and it says 192.168.1.100 (preferred)

@ashleeryoo . The default address for the router admin page is 192.168.1.1.

@ashleeryoo . Did you press Reset on Netcomm?

On your laptop, do:

ping 192.168.1.1

ping 192.168.20.1

ipconfig/all

Could you copy and paste the output in your reply.

I expect the first ping to work and the second ping to fail. I don't know why you get the message with the link.

@ashleeryoo . Are you with Internode or TPG?

I found a comment on the internet regarding this router and the odd ip address. The comment said it was a "dud" so your one may not be usable.

Only thing to try is to change the network config of your laptop to have a specific ip address, say 192.168.20.2.

Oh, I'm with TPG.
Do I have to try out the manual way?
Control Panel > Network > IPv4 > Properties > Use the following IP, DNS setting?

Also,
is it normal for the wifi system to pop up on my network screen? It just asks me for my Network Security Key when I try to connect it (I typed in the SSID written on the router but doesn't work)

This is how it pops up after I put in the default username/password
