I have a TP Link Archer VR1600v modem that came from TPG when I setup a new NBN account recently. I have been experiencing poor performance in Wifi signal strength and consistency. I would like to replace the modem with a 3rd party modem. Are there any additional restrictions on what modem I can use specific to TPG other than it being an NBN compatible modem?

By replacing the provided modem with a 3rd party one you will loose the ability to use the TPG Home Phone service.
