Router troubles

Hey,
I’ve been using tpg nbn with the supplied tpg router that connects to the nbn hfc box just fine but thought upgrading my router would improve my gaming experience. Can someone explain why I cannot get my internet working when I plug in the netgear XR500 router into the nbn box? Are there some brands just not supported?

If your Netgear router is compatible with the NBN HFC technology.

Then you need to make sure that the configuration is correct.
