Unable to log in to League of Legends (game)

Unable to log in to league of legends from about 1pm today (AEST). Only persons affected are those with TPG Australia. Unsure as to the cause, other than it appears it is something to do with TPG's internet.

 

Any guidance/assistance would be helpful.

Time: 7pm 

Just as an FYI - still not resolved and I can now confirm all TPG users are encountering the same problem. 

 

Hopefully TPG can get on this ASAP. Please notify TPG of issue so they take action.

What error message did you get when you try to log-in, can you please post a screenshot on this thread? Have you tested using mobile hotspot to acccess the game? 

 

What troubleshooting steps have you taken?

Hi Shane,

 

The error message is to the effect of "There was an unexpected error with the login session. Please try again". Sceenshot attached.

 

I don't have the ability to try mobile hotspot with my PC, but I know others have tried this approach and had success. Refer to this link for players dealing with the same issue today: https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/172phx2/oce_servers_down_i_cant_login_last_night_o....

 

The general consensus is that its only people using TPG that appear to have the login issue. 

 

I have tried all the basis troubleshooting steps (restart, re-log, close all processes, etc etc.)

Hi @Jordan26 ,

 

Let's try the basics: try to turn off the modem for 20 seconds, wait until it gets back, and test it again.

 

Also, are you on TPG-NBN? If so, what type of NBN technology do you have?

Restarted router - unfortunately issue remained.

 

Yes I am on TPG NBN - technology is Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC).

Hi @Jordan26 . Do you know the hostname or ip address of game server?

Can you do ping and tracert to hostname or ip address? Could be routing error in TPG network.

Hi David,

 

I believe the IP address shoud be 104.160.156.1 for the Oceanic server. I am not sure how to do a ping/tracert to this address sorry. Happy to be guided if you believe it may help

Yeah I saw this, but lots of my friends are still able to sign in and the only difference seems to be that they dont use TPG.

Hey,

 

I'm another TPG user in NSW with the same issue, also with TPG NBN.

I have also tried the usual router restarts, computer restarts and reinstalling the game - all with no luck.
