I want to send a private message to ask for a firmware update, but I cannot find a message buttom when I click on the name of a moderator. Am I doing something wrong? Is there another way to send a private message? Thanks.

Model and firmware version. A moderator will advise.
If you sign in, you should see send message button when you click on moderator name.

It is most likely you are not signed in hence you are not seeing the 'send a message' button.
