Good morning all. My avaast software tells me that my modem is not secure and is accessible from the internet and has an open port facing the internet. how can i resolve this in the modem admin page. thanks!

Did Avast say which port is open?

What model wifi router do you have?

modem is archer VR1600v. it gives a vunerability ID: HNS-WAN-ACCESS

probably no biggie. i am just curious more than anything

This relates to remote management of your router. Using telnet port 23 or http port 80, if the userid and password were known, someone could modify the settings. Try disabling it. Could also change the default admin passsord.

Do a google search on     avast HNS-WAN-ACCESS

On the page, select TP-Link (Archer). There is a guide on what to do.
