I just got a SIM and am porting my number over. It says "TPG will start the port request when you proceed with the activation of your mobile service below." does that mean my current SIM with Optus will still work until the TPG one is activated? Do I need to do anything with Optus?

The porting process starts once you have activated your TPG SIM.
