@peterotmar . Can you run the speedtest on TPG support page with your ethernet computer. Are the down and up speeds what you expect from your NBN plan? Do the 2 progress charts go smoothly during the test or do they stop and start? Is there a QoS or Bandwidth Control setting in the router? Is it enabled and are there any values?

@chaoyusyd . Check occasionally that the router has a proper wan ip address. Because it is dynamic, it can change every number of weeks due to NBN maintenance or something at TPG.

@chaoyusyd . Data only plan does not need VLAN ID (802.1q). Strange that it is now a proper address. Out of interest, go to whatismyip.com It will show your public wan ip address which should match what is in the router.

Hi @peterotmar . When you have a dropout, what happens to the lights on the NBN box? Do you do anything to reconnect it, or does it reconnect by itself? How long does that take? Does you HFC cable come overhead from power pole to your house or underground? If overhead, does it seem you get more dropouts on windy days? Regarding the System Log, save it to your computer, open it in Notepad or Wordpad, Select all, Copy, and paste into your reply. Just X out your username wherever it occurs.

@chaoyusyd . Do you live in an apartment building? Are you on NBN FTTB or TPG FTTB? With the latter, I believe the router connects to a small box which connects to the telephone wall socket. Has it always been like this or did it change recently? Your connection could be misconfigured in NBN or TPG. You should get a proper ip address. CGNAT is only used on 4G and 5G wireless broadband.

Hi @chaoyusyd . Are you on Bundled NBN/VOIP plan, or Data Only plan? Since your internet works with no VLAN ID, you could be Data only plan. Where do you see the "10" address you mentioned?

@dominicsoh . When you have 4/4 signal bars, what down and up speeds do you get? You should find the location of your local 5G tower. The Sagemcom goes where it has the best path to the tower. I don't know why the signal strength varies during the day. The 1201 Mbps wifi speed is very good.

@Ahra_G . You moderators should have a list of current firmware for your supported routers. The list is maintained by the technical team as they release upgrades. When a user goes to the trouble of providing the hardware and software details of their router, the moderator should be able to say either it is the latest, or ask for the user's details if they haven't provided the router details.

Hi @dominicsoh . Odd there is no NBN connection in your apartment. Have you checked your address at nbnco.com.au? How many signal bars are you getting on Sagemcom? Has this reduced since the time you had good speed? Have you tried moving the Sagemcom to different position? When doing speed test through Sagemcom, is your device connected to 5 GHz band? What is the wifi connection speed between device and router? In Settings, WiFi, tap the connection name. When you hotspot your device through your phone, what is the wifi connection speed? (Wifi connection speed is speed between device and router, and is different from the Speedtest speed.)

Hi @0410327568 . What type of NBN connection do you have? Are you on Bundled NBN/VOIP plan or Data Only plan? Are you trying to connect the Deco main unit directly to the NBN box, or connecting to the existing wifi router? You can try "Other" as isp name. And try username with @tpg.com.au .

Hi @jimmywhite . This worked for me just now. I can force nslookup to use different DNS (see below). With HG659, are you able to specify different DNS? If not, specify different DNS in Windows, Mac, tablets and phones. Hi @kristyp_ . Login to the Sagemcom admin. Look in Wireless settings to see if WPS is enabled. If it is but printer does not connect, look for setting for Band Steering. Disable it. Check that each wifi band has different name; e.g. the 5GHz band has -5G appended to 2.4GHz name. If still no good, you can connect your printer to your old wifi router which is cabled to Sagemcom. The old router is configured as Access Point, or as Dynamic IP (instead of PPPoE). You can disable Sagemcom wifi and just use the old wifi.

Hi @Dropbear087 . I saw your red note. Following is for current mobile plans. If you run out of data, it is topped up automatically from your pre-paid balance. Many of the VM plans are discontinued. Prepaid Balance: In addition to your recurring monthly plan charge, you have the option to make additional prepayments for usage that is not within the included value for your plan, by topping up your Prepaid Balance. Minimum $10 top-up to Prepaid Balance required. You may top-up your Prepaid Balance when you purchase your service or any time at tpg.com.au/account. If your service is cancelled, any unused balance of your Prepaid Balance will not be refunded. Excess Data: TPG Mobile plans have a certain amount of included data each monthly billing cycle. If at any time in a billing cycle you use up the amount of included data, we will charge $10 out of your Prepaid Balance to increase the amount of included data available in that particular billing cycle by 2GB. If there are insufficient funds in your Prepaid Balance, your mobile data will become inactive until your Prepaid Balance is topped up. Charges for Excess Data: We will charge $10 out of your Prepaid Balance (if available) which will give you an extra 2GB to use for the remainder of the billing period . @Paul1995 . You should download the user manual which is for V3.2. https://static.tp-link.com/upload/manual/2022/202212/20221205/1910012954_Deco%20M5_UG_V1.pdf It explains the steps to configure it. Telephone cable to VR1600 DSL port. Ethernet cable from VR1600 LAN port to Deco ethernet port. In the picture, it looks like telephone cable going to Deco. How many Deco units did you buy (2 or 3)? The main Deco unit is cabled to VR1600 so if you don't want a long cable snaking across the office, you would have a second unit where you need the extra coverage. Do step 1,2,3. Then set Operating Mode to Access Point. (In access point mode, Internet connection type and IPTV/VLAN are not used.) Connect Deco to VR1600. Skip step 4 which is already done. Step 5 is to refer to each unit. Skip step 6 because Deco is an access point. In step 7, you create a new Deco wifi network separate from VR1600. You would normally disable the VR1600 wifi (left hand button on top edge) and use just the Deco wifi. Avoids interference between VR1600 and Deco wifi. You will be able to connect to the VR1600 admin by using 192.168.1.1 in your browser. If you turn off the VR1600 wifi, you can set the Deco network name and password to same values so no need to change your PC setup.

@Ahra_G . You haven't answered the two questions. Even TMC don't know their charging structure. Possibly, either free with ads like Gmail, or monthly fee based on number of emails or data size. Since TMC provides the email function, what happens if the user switches their internet to another provider? Will the user still be able to keep their TPG email address with TMC but use another internet provider? @lazy_worm

Hi @GodHelpMe . Are you being blocked from something because your wan ip address is in his database? You could restart your router and get another ip address. The entries for this ip address go back to Nov 2023. It is unlikely you had this ip address back then, unless you have a static wan address. It is more likely you have been randomly allocated this address during a reconnection of your home network. Someone, somewhere might be doing stuff, spoofing this particular ip address. When you retire tonight, turn off your computers and disconnect your wifi devices from the router. Check tomorrow if the database still has records for when your devices were off. You could also do virus scan of your computers.

@Paul1995 . I would keep the VR1600 for now. Run the speed test occasionally or if you feel the speed has dropped. Use a PC that is using the 5 GHz band and that is closest to router. How big is your office? Are the 5 PCs spread over the 2 bands? The furthest away might do better on 2.4 GHz band which has greater range. Each PC should say what wifi connection speed it is getting (wifi speed between PC and router). Since each PC is wifi, each one can show how its wifi is performing at its location. In a command window: netsh wlan show all Shows all networks and signal strength, channel. You can use your mobile phone to check if there is much signal present from surrounding networks. Probably not much with brick walls. And check strength of your own network. If wifi coverage is a problem, a simple extender which is cabled to VR1600 or that picks up the VR1600 wifi and extends it might help. You can also get mesh units with the central unit cabled to VR1600; it makes wifi connection to satellite unit(s) placed around the office. Turn off VR1600 wifi in this case.Try your local computer store first.

@binhdo26 . Only other thing I can suggest is to remove the Service Type PTL from the rule. This user is doing port forwarding on same model and firmware as you. @binhdo26 . Did the telnet to 7547 return a text string? Do you know anyone who could set up a reverse test? They would create a rule for port 8080 to port 80 to any active ip address on their local lan. Use your browser with their wan ip address. There should be an immediate reply like connection refused. There won't actually be a web server running on their computer. TPG always say in these cases that they don't block any ports. Send a private message to a moderator with a link to this thread. Ask if the VX220 is blocking inbound connections. - the addressing from internet is correct - the server setup is correct, it is accessible locally - the forwarding rule is correct.

@binhdo26 . Can you look through router config. Is there any setting for CWMP? If enabled, can you try disabling it. From the internet, can you try connecting to port 7547. I have read somewhere that CWMP conflicts with port forwarding. I have setup same rule on my VR1600 and I can see the connection request from my mobile browser reach my computer, using Wireshark. What is firmware version of your VX220?

@binhdo26 . Can you login to router and check that its WAN ip address matches what you are using. From your LAN computer, see if you can ping the WAN ip address. If you can, do telnet test to WAN ip address.

@mathewo87 . The point of running two pings continuously at same time is to see if there is an increase in response time to the point where it gets too long. There is no overhead in the computer to doing this. And little network overhead doing it to the "10" address seen in tracert. You say both pings stopped at same time. This means a local error. Could be something in the computer, or the router is not processiing requests. When dropout occurs, can you still login to router? Or does login fail? Use a different device. If your computer is wifi, it could be a wifi problem; interference or wifi components not working. Although, you say it happens on eth and wifi, so more likely a router problem. You can Mark and Copy text from a command window and Paste it into your reply, rather than using pictures. Regarding the System Log, the device with MAC address ending 33:07 is having some problem. It is not receiving the Offer of ip address from router, then resending Discover. I don't know what that means. Is this the whole log? Seems like there shoud be messages from 08:30 to 18:30 but they're missing. Any "PPP" messages indicating problem on WAN link? The VOIP messages "SIP stack exited abnormally" might be significant.
