Hi there, I have just had a new modem delivered, and wanted to ask you if you could please check if it has the latest firmware on the device (as they may sit in the warehouse for many months before being dispatched). Many thanks Firmware Version: 2.0.0 0.9 v603c.0 Build 220517 Rel.49186n Hardware Version: VX220-G2v v2.0 00000000 Can you please see if its the latest version, and if not possibly push through an update for me ? Thanks BasilDV, That makes sense, and I’m not going to try and mess around with the NBN NTD to turn it off there just to turn it on at the router. I’ll either run a long telephone cable in, or just put up with the fact it needs to be plugged into the NTD and that’s that! Mark

Hi David64, Thanks for responding so quickly :-) Unfortunately it’s about 10m and in another room (I have an Ethernet point next to the fibre box and, one at my desk where o have my PC and Mesh plugged into the LAN ports. I could leave the phone next to the nbn box if I have to, but I was hoping there was an easy config change or fix to activate the router phone port, and then I could plug it in there. The router does have an RJ11 phone port, and would have been very handy to utilise it. I guess there must be a valid technical reason why a phone can only be plugged in the main fibre termination unit rather than the router itself (unlike my old DSL router)

Hi folks, I’ve just had FTTP installed to my home, and I was supplied a new router TP-Link VX220 G2V router that connects to the nbn fibre internal box. I wanted to connect my phone line to the actual router as it on my desk! But when plugged into the router there is no dial tone- and the router menu when logged in says it’s not activated with no option in the menu to turn it on? If I plug the phone into the nbn wall unit RJ11 it works fine - BUT I would like it on my desk plugged into the routers RJ11 port! So how do, or is it even possible to turn on the feature in this router to activate the phone port? The installer said it’s possible - but I can’t see it? Any ideas out there?

Hi Guys, When I transfer my email to the 'Messaging Company' do I need to do it for my Alias's as well? Or does this all come under my email address and happen in conjunction?

Hi guys, I have an old 'Huawei HG659' with phone port (which I'd like to keep if I can - but if it goes not a show stopper) on TPG - NBN FTTN 100/20 with RJ11 phone plug coming in from copper phone line. I've had it for a few years now, so there must be some faster chipsets and more efficient modems out there? I dont need wifi as I use a CAT6a cable it straight into my 'Goole Mesh'. So its really just a good modem with phone port that I'd like to replace that would be a straight'ish swap out. Ive seen a few long modem/router lists on here (but some get bad reviews when you Google, so whats best/good?). I would like to know if anyone has already done this, and has found good, modern reasonably model option that would do the job and give me roughly the same connections as the Huawei HG659 but with 2021'ish chipsets - happy to go up to ~$350 which I hope would get a reasonable good replacement? Hi BasilDV, Thanks for replying to my request. When you say "updates will be given once available". My understanding was their are newer firmware updates available now at ver B113 , as I'm running ver B111 Does this mean I can expect a firmware update in a couple of days time? Thanks Mark

Hi there, I recently joined the TPG Community as I have a question. After looking in my Huawei HG659 was unable to find any update firmware button that I usually expect to find in a modem. After reading a number of threads about this on the site I see its a hidden item, and pushed from your end. My modem is currerntly on ver B111 and I see its up to ver B113 or possibly B114?I'm not sure what differences the update will offer, but these things usually address some bugs or enhance some features or security. Hi there, Its always a good idea to keep your devices up to date with the latest firmware - I know mine is at B111 and I believbe the latest is B113 or B114? Now I've seen lots of texts asking about this HG659 firmware update - but it looks like reading all the replies that its a push from your TPG end? I did see a comment about getting the 'TPG app' - but I dont suppose that function is built in, so you can simply update the firmware while its connected on the same wifi network? If not, then please tell me what you need from my side, and how can I go about getting it done? Cheers
