I wondered about that, but then I thought, how would my new provider know how to access my TPG router (I assume via TR-069), as I suspect access control would be heavily protected. It is a "TPG router" and I assume, was previously being managed by TPG. I wondered if the router was still on their list of devices to monitor and manage.

I have (probably) and odd query. I bought my TP-Link VX220 router from TPG about 9 months ago. It has wored worked reasonably well for me. I have done a number of things with my home network, like: change the IP address of the router to 10.0.0.1 changed my primary/secondary DNS to 1.1.1.2 / 1.0.0.2 configured the address pool from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.254 configured address reservation for known devices on my network This worked perfectly for me. I decided to switch to AGL Internet, as they were offering a 100mbps / 20mbps service for $5 a month less. I took my existing Router with me to AGL and the switched happened seemlessly, without me having to do any manual reconfiuration of my router settings. Since I switched, I have been getting random and "mysterious" router re-confiuration changes, where the IP address of the router will change back to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 - but all the other settings remain intact. This has sometimes happened multiple times in a day or not happened for a day or 2. Whenever this reconfiguration happens, the router is rebooted, IP address of the router changes and then devices have issues re-establishing a connection, as they have a lease for the 10.x.x.x range. Today, this happened during a Teams call. How can I go about tracing who is changing these settings (i.e. TPG or AGL, probably via TP-069) and get them to stop?

Thanks - spoke to Tech Support again today. As the Router is out of warranty, I have purchased a new one from TPG for $99 (plus shipping).

That's a good point. Yes, I had my old phone connected into the Archer and yes, I would now be unable to make landline calls. To confirm, I was able to configure the Asus Router so it got Internet access, thanks in part to a semi-out of date KB on TPG's website. The NBN HFC box has had 4 solid green lights on it, and when the Archer was rebooting, the lights on the NBN box remained steady. Also, no loss of internet since I connected my Asus router to the NBN box.

Woke up this morning and my Archer 1600 Router was constantly rebooting every few mins. I would get connected to the NBN for a new mins, then all lights would flick on, then off and then just the flashing power light, indicating the router was rebooting. I rebooted everything, including the HFC NBN box and the router. Still the same. Left the Router off for an hour, plugged it back in and exactly the same thing was happening. Called TPG support. He asked a number of questions and did a line test, which was "normal". He asked me to "borrow a new Router from a friend" to see if the Router or the line (?). I asked, if it was the Router, would TPG replace it and I was told "because there is a global Chip Shortage, TPG isn't providing any replacement routers at the moment". Which means, I am left with NBN from TPG without a working Router, which seems a little odd. I have an old "spare" Asus RT-AC68U Router, however I can't get any Wi-Fi networks from it. I have configured it for access to the internet via Ethernet but numerous factory resets, changing SSID names, turning hidden networks on and off hasn't fixed the issue. I know TPG or this forum doesn't support my Asus, but leaving me with no Router seems a little odd. Out of interest, should TPG be supplying me with a working Router or do I need to go and buy myself a new Router to replace the original? I am getting a call back tomorrow morning from TPG support.

Thanks @Shane, After 2 days, my speeds are still at ~50mbps. I've powere cycled my NBN box and router a few times in the last 2 days.

Also got the SMS yesterday (23/02/2021), no email, stating from the 18/02/2021 I was getting superfast speeds. Yesterday, using ethernet from my laptop into the router I was getting ~50mbps on a speedtest.net. Rebooted the NBN box and then the router, was still getting ~50mbps. Performed a reset on the NBN box, by pressing and holding the reset button on the back with a pen for 10seconds until the NBN box rebooted, then rebooted my router. I was then observing downloads speeds of about ~130mbps to 140mbps - which was nice. Today however the downloads are back to ~50mbps. Here is a screenshot of my Speedtest results: Latest speeds are back to ~50mbps: Speeds this morning were at ~120-140mbps: Will send my username privately to @Shane Just ran the test on TPG's hosted speedtest site: Edit: For some reason Bandwidth Control was enabled (not by me) in the router, however only for Upstream. I've disabled this setting but still not getting the Superfast speeds:

This was resolved by working with TPG support and performing a reset on the NBN box. There is a tiny reset button. I held a pen in there for 10 seconds. The box did a refresh. Upload speeds are back to 19mbps via Ethernet cable.

Please note: I have rebooted my NBN box and my router reboots every 3 days. After the reboot, I still have ~10mbps upload speed.

I've noticed I now only get 10mbps on my uploads. This used to regularly be alomst 20mbps, as measured by Speedtest.net. I regularly run automated speed tests, overnight. My laptop is connected to my router via ethernet. All results are recorded on the speedtest.net website. Downloading my speed test results I can see a history of 3700 speed test results. Looking at the upload speed history from speedtest.net, I can see sometime between 3rd August and 16th August my upload speed dropped. Today, I am getting about 9.25mbps. I had an outage in my area on 27th July, as advised by automated SMS's from TPG (whilst I was at work), however I can see after this date I was getting almost 20mbps upload speeds. Has TPG quietly decreased the upload speed for NBN50 customers hoping it wouldn't be noticed (I have nbn via HFC) or is there a "config issue" with my connection which needs to be addressed?
