Hey, I've been struggling with an issue with my NBN internet for around a month now, and it's prolonged lag spikes around night time. I do a lot of voice calls and online gaming and this basically prevents me from doing either of those when the lag spikes start. Using the ping command my typical ping hovers around 10ms but the ping spikes, which may last an hour with only brief windows of normal ping, will have ping between 100 and 3000. I am using the modem provided to me when NBN was installed, perhaps that's the issue? I have run the ping test on multiple devices and they seem to have similar results. I adjusted my WiFi's channel to one with fewer other signals on it, it seemed to have no effect. For the past few days my internet has been randomly dropping out, saying that it has lost connection to the DNS server. It only reconnects once I go to my router and put in my login and wait for it to gather connection information. By putting in the DNS Address manually it now automatically reconnects whenever it can but the internet still goes out randomly. It usually lasts for more than 1 minute and occurs more frequently during the night. Over the past 3-5 days, my internet has been unusually slow and dropping out. Usually the internet becomes slow before dropping out. The dropouts happen all throughout the day but are most frequent before 12pm and late at night, sometimes dropping out multiple times within an hour. The issue is always fixed when I go to the Netgear Genie program and tell it to fix the internet. I'm not sure what it does but it works every time. When I do open the program it will, on occasion, ask me to put in my TPG login details. ... View more
