Get online support
Hi,
I recently upgraded my NBN plan from NBN50 Unlimited Data at 50/14 to NBN Home Ultrafast Unlimited Data at 800/40. The upload speed looks to have increased to 40Mbps, but the download still appears to be shaped at 50Mbps.
There are some similar issues reported on this forum from a cursory look:

Like the others, I've power-cycled the NBN box and my router and there's been no change.
Please let me know if you need any more information.
Hey @meattray, it might be that your modem's settings need to be reconfigured after your speed upgrade.
Send me a PM, and we'll make sure you're getting these new higher speeds that you're paying for.

For all who come across this topic:
After providing account details to remote support, they suggested plugging a PC directly into the NBN box. After doing so, speeds reached those advertised. When I switched back to the router, the speeds persisted.
Not sure if anything was changed on TPG side, or just the fact it re-authenticated through the PC was enough to trigger something, but happy to consider this resolved.
HI! I made an account here to help those that found this post through google and have had this issue from other ISP's or other routers. If you are getting the behaviour mentioned in this thread where you get the speeds you should be getting after upgrading your plan by plugging your device directly into your NBN box but NOT when your router is plugged into your NBN box YOU NEED TO FACTORY RESET YOUR ROUTER FROM THE BACK BY PUTTING A PIN IN THE FACTORY RESET HOLE FOR 30 SECONDS (depends on router check manual).
I know it's annoying to have to re-do all your port forwarding and other settings but this worked for me. Fingers crossed so you dont have to go out and buy new networking hardware.
Ciao~
