No Internet connection

Is anyone else having issues with internet connection this week? For some reason we are having issues connecting with the internet and when it does connect it only loads emails or good search engine. When we go to load up another webpage it goes to the no internet page.

I have rebooted the modem multiple times. I have tried different web browsers. At the moment we can only use our phone data to access any Internet.

Anyone have any solutions?

Hi @ABFC . Any progress here?

If not, can you try this. In a command window, use nslookup command to se if you can get addresses.

Examples:

nslookup facebook.com

nslookup youtube.com

nslookup google.com.au

Try a few others that you might use.

Use ping commands to these websites to see if you can get through.

Copy and paste the command outputs into your reply.

Hi @david64,
I can not even load a website to put any commands in. Probably a little “out of my league” moment as well.

Worked out how to do what you asked.

Connection timed out; no servers could be reached.

However google and Facebook sent back immediate responses with correct servers.

@ABFC . Need to see the output of those commands. What is different about google/facebook working and others not working?

To copy and paste text in the Command Prompt window, you can do the following:
  1. Open a new Command Prompt window
  2. Right click anywhere in the window and select Mark
  3. Highlight the text to be copied using the left mouse button. Start at top and scroll to bottom.
  4. Press Enter to copy the text
  5. In your reply in Community, Right click and select Paste to paste the text.

Hi,

I anm a user of tpg FTTC in Brisbane Western Suburb and at 9 something tonight. A mighty big bang was over our suburb.

Now I do not have NBN (NBN device has power on but the second button blinking and momentarily off) and naturally no phone service. (I am using a mobile broadband to write this).

I did a Service Test from "My Account" and that generate an SMS telling me an NBN technician visit is booked on 30/12. May be the Service Test found something wrong.

Since no internet, can't run nslookup for most sites. ping to tpg.com.au is dead (Request timed out).

nslookup google.com.au
Server: UnKnown
Address: 192.168.0.1

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: google.com.au
Addresses: 2404:6800:4006:80a::2003
172.217.167.67

I think the service is fried by the lightning.
