I can receive emails but I can't send any today although I could a few days ago,
This is the message I get:
"Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.tpg.com.au was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again."
Or if I let it run I get this (which is understandable):
"Sending of the message failed.
The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) mail.tpg.com.au timed out. Try again."
If I go to the TPG Post Office it appears as if I can send an email.
Any ideas?
@John_S . Sending emails seems to be fixed now.
I had problems with Thunderbird 78 earlier in the year and the solution was to go to the "Config Editor" and change the "security.tls.version.min" from 3 to 1. This fixed the problem I had then.
It appears that TPG have now fixed my current problem. (solution described by david64)
Thanks,

Hi @John_S . You might be having the same problem as me; mail not being sent.
I sent this to postmaster:
Mail server slow to respond. Mail server mail.tpg.com.au is taking too long to respond when sending mail using mail client (SMTP). Happens with Thunderbird, Outlook, Windows Live Mail.
There are threads in Community today at 11:52 am, 3:39 pm, 4:11 pm, 8:01 pm.
Looks like it accepts emails only one every 5 minutes. After waiting 5 minutes, a test mail is sent within 2 seconds.
At the SMTP level, client connects to mail server, receives 220 response, sends HELO command, gets the TCPIP ACK response, but not the 250 server response. Client times out after one minute.
And received this:
Our system engineers are now looking into this matter.
We will get back to you once we have an update from them.

Thanks for that.
It appears to be working now.
