@Tracyleung325 . Having the signal strength drop like that is reason enough to replace the router. How long have you had it? It might be under warranty.

If you use the VOIP phone facilty, you have to use the TPG router.

If you don't use it, you can buy any other router.

About a month or so (15/12/23) - it was sent to me as a part of the TPG NBN plan. Thankfully I don't use the VOIP phone line, so one less thing to worry about. Thanks for all your help and feedback!

With all the help you are getting from David and the mods, I don't think changing providers is the answer.
