Calling 1300 or 13 numbers from NBN Phone Bundle

Why are these numbers still not included in the NBN Phone plans ??? 99.9% of Government numbers are either 13 or 1300 along with many many businesses and more. It is time these calls were included in the bundles as times have changed here and these are now vital numbers to many users and MUST be considered to be included. It may come as a surprise but not everyone has a mobile phone so these people are not only paying a premium for your services they must also pay to call these numbers and you can be on hold for quite some time even and hour +and still not get to speak with someone. Time to get fair dinkum TPG and change this ridiculous policy.

Hi Older_One,

Welcome to the community!

Thank you for raising this to us. At the moment TPG-NBN calls to 13/1300, AU Mobile numbers and Directory Services will be charged at listed TPG rates by deducting usage charges from Home Phone Prepayment Outside Included Value. The service is for residential consumers only and may not be used for commercial purposes. We will take this into consideration.

We appreciate your feedback, this will help us improve our service.

Regards,

Thank you for the reply. I am aware it is for residential customers. What I don't get is for myself or anyone else that has a need to call a Government Dept like Medicare, Centrelink or the RMS or any of the many other departments we cannot do so on an NBN phone plan without a charge out of the deposit. On a home phone it is a local call so why not just include them on the plans. We can however call anyone of a listed 15 countries and talk for however long we choose as a plan inclusion so this just doesn't make any sense at all. As more and more 13/1300 numbers are being introduced in this country it is time you too moved with the times and included these calls on the NBN Phone Plans. To call these numbers from most mobile phones they are charged at the per minute rate and anyone that has had to call them will tell you you are held in a queue for usually a minimum of 20 to 30 mins before you actually talk to anyone.

Hi @ron26nsw,

Charges for such calls are not included will be charged at Listed TPG rates on a 'pay as you go' basis and deducted from your prepaid balance. Calls to 19/1900 numbers are also not supported.

Please ensure that you have enough prepaid balance in order to make calls outside of your plan.

The Home Phone Optional Prepaid Balance is $0 by default, to make an outgoing call that is outside your plan inclusions, you can top up from $10, $20, $100 and $200 to be able to use your home phone. When the prepaid balance is $0, you can only make calls to emergency service (000) and to TPG 13 14 23.

Thanks!
