How to set up TP-Link C4000 BYO modem for NBN

TP-Link Archer C4000

This article provides modem setup advice for NBN services to get you up and running in just a few simple steps;

 

First:

You need to know the technology type used to supply your NBN service.

 

Your NBN technology type can be found in the Installation email we sent to you prior to your NBN service activation. Simply search for nbnorders@tpg.com.au nbn installation confirmed in your email inbox to find this email.

Choose your NBN technology type below for the TP-Link Archer C4000 set up guide.

 

 

 

 

 

 You've Determined: You have an NBN FTTP / Fixed Wireless service

 

Please follow the steps below to set up your TP-Link Archer C4000.

 

     1. Ensure your NBN Connection Box is turned on

 

     2. Plug an Ethernet cable from the designated UNI-D port on your NBN Connection Box into the blue Internet port on your TP-Link router. (An email with the provisioned UNI-D port number will be sent to you once service installation date has been confirmed)TPLink.png

 

     3. Plug in the power cable and turn your TP-Link router on using the Power buttonTPLink2.png

 

     4. Connect your computer or any device to your router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi and go to http://192.168.0.1 in your browser

 

     5. Login with your TP-Link router’s username and password. By default, these are:

           Username: admin
           Password: admin

 

     6. Select AdvancedNetwork then Internet

 

     7. Select PPPoE for Internet Connection Type

 

     8. Enter your TPG Username and Password

 

     9. Click Save

 

     10. For NBN Fixed Wireless bundled plan (Internet and VoIP), go to IPTV, then Enabe the IPTV.

Select Custom under ISP Profile, and enter "2" for Internet VLAN ID. Enter "0" for Internet VLAN Priority. Tick the checkbox for 8021Q Tag and enter any random number between 2 and 4049 for IP-Phone VLAN ID and IPTV VLAN ID.

 

For NBN FTTP and Data only plan, leave it disabled.

 

     11. Click Save.

 

 

 

Your TP-Link Archer C4000 should now be online. If you are still having issues, please call us on 1300 997 271 for further assistance.

  You've Determined: You have an NBN FTTC service

 

Please follow the steps below to set up your TP-Link Archer C4000.

 

     1. Ensure your NBN Connection Device is turned on

 

     2. Plug an Ethernet cable from the yellow Gateway port on your NBN Connection Device into the blue Internet port on your TP-Link routerTPLink.png

 

     3. Plug in the power cable and turn your TP-Link router on using the Power buttonTPLink2.png

 

     4. Connect your computer or any device to your router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi and go to http://192.168.0.1 in your browser

 

     5. Login with your TP-Link router’s username and password. By default, these are:

           Username: admin
           Password: admin

 

     6. Select AdvancedNetwork then Internet

 

     7. Select PPPoE for Internet Connection Type

 

     8. Enter your TPG Username and Password

 

     9. Click Save

 

     10. For NBN bundled plan (Internet and VoIP), go to IPTV, then Enabe the IPTV.

Select Custom under ISP Profile, and enter "2" for Internet VLAN ID. Enter "0" for Internet VLAN Priority. Tick the checkbox for 8021Q Tag and enter any random number between 2 and 4049 for IP-Phone VLAN ID and IPTV VLAN ID.

Please follow the steps below to set up your TP-Link Archer C4000.

 

     1. Ensure your NBN Connection Box is turned on

 

     2. Plug an Ethernet cable from the UNI-D1 port on your NBN Connection Box into the blue Internet port on your TP-Link routerTPLink.png

 

     3. Plug in the power cable and turn your TP-Link router on using the Power buttonTPLink2.png

 

     4. Connect your computer or any device to your router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi and go to http://192.168.0.1 in your browser

 

     5. Login with your TP-Link router’s username and password. By default, these are:

           Username: admin
           Password: admin

 

     6. Select AdvancedNetwork then Internet

 

     7. Select PPPoE for Internet Connection Type

 

     8. Enter your TPG Username and Password

 

     9. Click Save

 

     10.  For NBN bundled plan (Internet and VoIP), go to IPTV, then Enabe the IPTV.
