My land line 07 XXXXXXXX is not working after the NBN connection was p[rovided this moning. The modem was properly installed as per TPG instructions. Internet connection is okay but not the landline.

You need to add a credit or balance to your home phone in order to use the outgoing calls, but the incoming calls should work.
