New modem needed

How long before TPG can send me out a new modem or is it quicker for me to get one from a local elect retailer?
Been waiting to get a call back from TPG for over an hour now so may not get a response from them today.
Can anyone tell me if they will need to install a new modem or can I buy from a retailer and install myself?

Hi @DebFriend, 

Is this for a new service or replacement? Modem delivery can take 1-5 working days. If you get your own modem, you won't be able to use your VoIP or homephone.

Not a new connection just a replacement for the one that got damaged in storms, can you suggest a replacement for CM8200b brand arris?
I don’t use the phone line

Thanks for that @DebFriend. If it is the NBN NTD itself, you won't be able to purchase that as it is NBN Co's property and can only be supplied by them. NBN NTDs are also going to work only on the address it is provisioned for on the system.
