###ALL NEW NBN USERS### I swapped over to NBN as well at the end of last year in 2020. Had an issue calling a """13""" number last month, but put it down to being busy and also Covid19 - limited staff. Fast forward - same thing occured yesterday and on trying a number of "13" numbers I discovered none went through and all were engaged except TPG. Bottom line - after being peeved off no end with unhelpful TPG tech guys today and going back and forth I came to the realisation that ADSL included "13" and "1300", but NBN doesn't. It is also written in writing as well because I looked it up. ADSL included it and that plan was less whereas NBN costs more, but it doesn't. Go figure! TPG charges more for """less of a service""" and most "13" numbers in Australia are to essential services like: Electricity, Gas, Phones, Australia Post. In addition, TPG doesn't permit the use of other companies that provide services that specialise in 13, 19 and 1300 numbers for a cost yet TPG has no phone plans to cover those 13 and 1300 numbers and yet they charge more for NBN compared to ADSL. NBN was supposed to be alot cheaper than ADSL. What we actually got in ADSL was far better than with NBN and if we didn't have to change over I wouldnt have! TPG needs to include "13" and "1300" numbers, like with ADSL, because most essential services have them and not normal phone numbers. Field Technician Update: March 6th, 2020. 1) No field technician came to the residential premises between 8am and midday today. 4th time a date has been given, but no person showed. 2) Internet was down again and the phone still out. However, the phone has gone from CHECK PHONE LINE (3 weeks) to beep, beep, beep stop (1 week) and back to CHECK PHONE LINE again. Internet is back on, but am not sure if it will be stable or not. 13:24 Correction: My phone and internet is totally out. Latest Update: ***Not Spam*** 05/03/2020 Still no landline and am crossing my fingers about the internet. Yesterday, March 6th, 2020 was the earliest date given for a field technician. Number 4. I put a complaint in to TIO as one month is far too long for it to be fixed. The twist in the plot is that Telstra updated their repair date to March 27th, 2020, some time last night. According to the "Customer Service Guarantee" for "Repairs and Maintenance" - any repairs should have been done by the "End of the next working day". I think it is within my rights to request that Telstra should provide a full report as to what caused such damage and why it was not fixed by the next working day. And to fix it! TPG - not once did you give any reason why my phone line was out nor why the internet was affected. I found that out looking at Telstra's website. Even then... I want you to obtain a full report from Telstra outlining the damage and why it has not been fixed at all. Location as well. March the 27th is unreasonable and unacceptable. 04/03/2020. Still no email from TPG and it is the only form of contact as of the "third date" given for repairs. Still no landline phone and still an unpredictable internet, although not as bad as the first week followed by off/on/sluggish/cut outs at any given time, nor the end of last week when it was zilch again. However, the dentist tried to call me last week I believe to confirm, and also on the day of my appointment because she wanted me to know something ahead of time, but no success. Mobile too but no luck. Found out when I got there - fortunately I still had the appointment card from the last session. Not at all acceptable because a landline is necessary in my area due to mobiles being in a no signal area or spots that are weak if you are Optus etc. As for any other kind of appointments coming up - can only hope it is not a repeat of the dentist. ... 03/03/2020 3:00 pm TPG tried to call yet again...this time whilst I was at the dentist's. Please call the landline - whole point of getting one. Alas - it hasn't worked in a month. 27/02/2020. 6:10pm. My neighbour's phone is working. I was there when it rang through about 10 minutes ago. IINET. After 20 days of no landlines - one phone is finally back on although a bit static. Although my phone now shows a DATE - it's still not working at all. No sound or a faint buzz maybe. Not quite a static sound at all and definitely no calling out. When ringing mine - it is exactly as the neighbours was for 3 weeks. Dir Dir Dir then no sound. At least the unpredictable internet seems to be back somewhat, but how long for? We need reliable internet like certain Asian countries. Even Europe. The cost of two coffees for unlimited internet and the phone. I think lawsuits should be reinforced more and especially when people need phones and the internet for medical reasons and/or even arranging important things like funerals. In the 10 years I had internet and a phone in Asia not ONCE did it ever have an issue. Not once! And it only cost two cups of coffee per month for unlimited internet and the phone. NBN? An NBN technician was out for NBN last Tuesday (18/02/2020) at our building and said he didn't deal with ADSL just NBN. I spoke to him face to face. Stop texting me and calling my mobile that has nothing to do with TPG - it's pointless. Try the home phone instead as it is TPG. Only - it's out of working order. Imagine if I didn't have a mobile. Unless you can physically locate to the main cable - you are doing absolutely nothing and aren't really working with Telstra at all. Not one bit. Texts and calls make no difference at all. How many different phone numbers do you have? Surely ONE is enough to make one call from TPG to my mobile phone. Just one phone number - not THREE different ones so far. "Unknown Numbers" and "Private" are rejected. No signal is another story. And...a 50 minute wait time is totally ridiculous. Who has 50 minutes to wait?
