The plot thickens .... The same phone (Realme 7 5G RMX2111) with an Optus SIM inserted gets a similar positive response as the Vodafone SIM when texting 3 to 3498..... however using a Boost (Telstra) SIM it gets the "Unable to confirm" message, although entering the IMEI on AMTA's website continues to get the "OK" response as expected and quite regardless of SIM presence.   So perhaps there's also undisclosed SIM/Carrier requirements? If so, that may mean that some ppl will only need to update an older SIM or change the carrier to continue using a phone which presently gets mixed responses. Seems like many things these days, it's all a hot mess and there's no clarity. Do the three individual carriers really know what will happen with specific phones I wonder.   Roll on 28th October. I'll still have access to all 3 carriers' active SIMs to check the results of them in the same phone and additionally test two 4G VoLTE phones, Realme 6 and Oppo A72, which presently get the same results as the 5G Realme 7.   I find it milding amusing that there's been no moderator reponse to any of these recent posts as @gcck88 also points out. @alanguide  No, it's not to do with 000 calling in particular. I seem to recall that one of TPG's requirements for enabling VoLTE is to also enable WIFI calling on the phone but perhaps it was the other way around and VoLTE must be available for WiFi calls to work.   @alanguide It's not network specific because it's a service proved by AMTA: Check My Device - AMTA | The Voice of the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Industry   @gcck88 If your device shows VoLTE next to the signal bars then it's obviously VoLTE capable, however you may need to update the firmware perhaps and also enable WiFi calling in settings. Hopefully you'll get some clarification from a mod here as to what will happen before 28th Oct. Good luck.   EDIT: You can also enter the device's IMEI number on the AMTA website above. Dial *#06# on your phone to bring up the number then enter it. @alanguide Yes, it may just be there to completely cover their backsides however why would they not simply state in the conditions that the client relinquishes any claim against TPG after they start paying TMC for the service and leave it at that? That's effectively what Condition 9 states anyway: "When The Messaging Company begins providing your email services, TPG and its affiliates will not be responsible to you in any way in connection with your email service (e.g. providing setup or troubleshooting support; security; service quality)."   So why the heck is 6 even there?  @gcck88 Just text "3" to 3498 which works with any Australian mobile carrier, see attached screenshot using the service on the Vodaphone network. That remotely queries your phone and you'll get an almost instant automatic reply stating whether it's compatible or not. My Realme 7 5G, Realme 6 4G and Oppo A72 4G aren't on TPG's list but all of them are VoLTE capable.... which is what's important. No 3G-only phones are VoLTE capable, also many early 4G phones are not able to use VoLTE, even if all available firmware upgrades have been applied. ... View more

I'd like to get some clarity on "6", which states: TPG may withdraw the right for you to use your current email address when you cease acquiring services from TPG or one of our affiliates.   So TPG "may" withdraw our right to use our tpg email address via the Massaging Company whom we're now separately PAYING for that service. How the heck is that ethical or even legal if invoked?   I note that rather than use the definitive word "shall", they elected to use "may". That means they can optionally withdraw the right for us to use an email address when we are now paying some other entity to use it? That smacks of unfair practice to me. It sounds like a blatant attempt to 'encourage' customers not to abandon TPG's other services and may very well breach Fair Trading legislation if enforced. @grahamsayers  In fairness TPG did warn some time back that they'd be removing any 'unused' aliases and not allowing creation of new ones. I'm unable to locate the email they sent me however but it was quite recent. Two regularly-used aliases of mine were unaffected however others i didn't use regularly disappeared. ... View more

@gazzer3 I think the only reason they aren't being absolutely inundated with complaints is because many ppl use email clients on their devices and never even try to access webmail. So any problems are largely going unnoticed by users.   I do hope that this isn't some 'thin edge of the wedge' process related to TPG no longer including email services for new customers which is going to eventually spread to existing customers. The longer their email server access problems persist the more likely myself and others might suspect they want to get rid of email services eventually given that no new addresses are being given out, not even new aliases for existing customers.   Posting something by Management to the effect that they guarantee to maintain existing email services ongoing would be helpful. @ummtpl TPG webmail aka 'post office' is still flaky for me however my various email clients (Thunderbird, Windows 11 Mail app on PC/Laptop and Android Mail app on Realme 6) have all worked thru this entire fiasco since yesterday, albeit somewhat delayed at times. The webmail still is annoyingly unresponsive at times when access is attempted directly via a web browser, however email clients should doggedly attempt to connect until they succeed which is why i suggested yesterday to use one for access. Whether it's because of email clients having some server priority or their persistance in logon attempts they can and do retrieve and sent emails successfully.   Perhaps your problems are due to incorrect initial setup, sometimes the software/app auto setup functions just don't work and you need to enter the info manually for TPG's POP3/IMAP email: Email Settings | TPG Support ... Webmail's sporatic at best still. It's not working again for me but was 20 mins ago. I suspect they're limiting connections intentionally until they have all servers back up.
